IEC provides voluntary world standards for electrical, electronic and telecommunications industries. Standards allow for electrical and electronic eqpt., systems and sub-systems to work together no matter where they're designed, manufactured, assembled or used. IEC standards are used as the basis of national rules and standards in more than 140 countries.
