TECHNICAL STANDARDS AND SAFETY AUTHORITY (TSSA)
With headquarters in Toronto, the authority employs in excess of 320 staff, approximately 70 percent of whom work in operations. Governed by a 13-member board of directors with relevant backgrounds, the authority is accountable to the Ontario government. TSSA funds its operations by charging its industry clients a fee for the services it provides.
Representation The Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) is a not-for-profit, self-funded delegated administrative authority that administers and enforces public safety laws under the province of Ontario's Technical Standards and Safety Act, 2000.
Standing Committee TSSA delivers public safety services in four key sectors: boilers and pressure vessels and their associated operating engineers; amusement and elevating devices; fuels and upholstered and stuffed articles.
