TECHNICAL STANDARDS AND SAFETY AUTHORITY (TSSA)
Throughout the province of Ontario, TSSA regulates the safety of amusement devices, boilers and pressure vessels, elevating devices, fuels, operating engineers, ski lifts, and upholstered and stuffed articles. With headquarters in Toronto, the authority employs in excess of 400 staff, approximately 70 percent of whom work in operations. Governed by a 13-member board of directors with relevant backgrounds, the authority is accountable to the Ontario government. TSSA funds its operations by charging its regulated industry parties a fee for the services it provides.
Representation The Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) is a not-for-profit, self-funded statutory corporation mandated by the Government of Ontario to enforce provincial safety regulations and enhance public safety.
